Review: Gluten Free Houston Baked Goods

Do you dream of delicious gluten free baked goods that are super-moist and have a delicate texture? I do! An amazing Texas based bakery by the name of Gluten Free Houston bakes up a comforting assortment of homemade gluten free baked goods that will not only live up to your dreams, they will exceed your expectations!
A Message from Gluten Free Houston:
"Are you in search of gluten-free solutions for yourself or a family member? Then, I can help. I have spent the last six years developing my own hand-made gluten-free baked goods. When I first started out, all I came up with were lumps of bricks! It's not easy to produce really good baked goods without the gluten protein found only in wheat, barley and rye flours. It is complicated and time consuming, but I have hit on a formula that works. Even my non gluten-free friends think everything is fantastic.
As you probably already know, living gluten-free is somewhat expensive--the ingredients are very pricey, but very high quality. I decided that if I am going to take the time and effort
to bake things for myself, my family members and friends who do not eat wheat, it might as well be the best it can be, with the best ingredients. It's impossible to produce fresh gluten-free baked goods on a large scale. Everything has to be frozen and it's really not very good. When it's hand-made and fresh, it is fabulous.
If you are a gluten-free person, you don't have to have baked items with weird after-tastes, grainy stuff in your mouth, and that strange, slightly "off" taste. You can and should have the best. Bear with me here, because these items are not inexpensive. However, I can guarantee that they are much better than anything you can buy that is frozen, and better than any mass-produced fresh items. That is why I am doing it my way---very small selection of items, in very small quantities, that are available fresh and delicious. Otherwise, why bother?"
My Personal Gluten Free Houston Experience:
Gluten Free Houston sent me samples of their Gluten Free Cinnamon Coffee Cake, Gluten Free Carrot Cake Muffin Loaf, Gluten Free Gingerbread Cake, and Gluten Free Hamburger Buns to taste. The cakes are so moist and delicate that each bite practically melts in your mouth! The claim that there is no funny after-taste with Gluten Free Houston 's baked goods is 100% accurate; these baked goods could be served to any group of gluten-eaters and they would NEVER know that they were eating gluten free treats! The cakes are in loaf form, and they slice up beautifully.
My family was in agreement that Gluten Free Houston's Hamburger Buns were among the very best we have tasted. We served veggie burgers on them recently, and they were a big hit.
Thank you for letting my family sample your fabulous goodies Gluten Free Houston!

  1. I would love to try the hamburger buns and the sandwich bread but even the lowest shipping cost for 1 package hamburger buns and 1 loaf of bread was $22.74 and that is more than both products and I simply cannot afford it.

  2. Hello floretrain,

I understand! The great thing about internet communities is that we can help bring small gluten free businesses to our local natural foods markets by requesting they carry their products; thus eliminating the need for expensive shipping costs.

This is exactly what happened with Udi's gluten free bread; it was delicious, but most people (including myself) were not willing to pay the high shipping costs. Gluten free consumers like you and I pulled together and began requesting it in their local natural foods markets;now you can find Udi's in Whole Foods and many other markets around the US as well.

Please consider supporting Gluten Free Houston in their efforts to bring their gluten free goods closer to the customer, by requesting it in your local market.

Thank you for your valuable comment!

    Cheers!
