I love testing new gluten free cereals, it provides me the chance to add new fast weekday breakfast options for my family. Trying the four gluten free, organic Cerealvit cereals from Riega Foods was especially exciting, because they offer some unique flavors.
One of the greatest things about the gluten free cereals from Cerealvit is their 13.25 oz package size, which is the largest average size of any brand of boxed gluten free and organic cereals! That means Cerealvit cereals are 10% to 40% larger than most other gluten free cereals on the market... WOW! Being the frugal Mom that I am, I love that!
Choco Stars are like an answer to my children's prayers; this crunchy star shaped chocolate cereal tastes very similar to the Cocoa Puffs of my childhood, but unlike Cocoa Puffs, Choco Stars contain healthy ingredients! My elementary aged children are attracted to the child-friendly graphics on the box, and of course they love the chocolaty flavor and the crunch. Any household with children on a gluten free diet should definitely try Choco Stars!
The Corn Flakes from Cerealvit have a great corn flavor and are nice and crunchy. Corn flakes are a staple in my house. I often use Corn Flakes to make peanut butter dessert bars for my family, so we always keep them on hand. My family likes the Cerealvit Corn Flakes, and we would definitely use them again.
My husband and I love the Benevit cereal the most; it's crunchy flakes have a pleasing flavor, and remind us of the Special K cereal that we used to enjoy eating before our household went gluten free. We love Benevit cereal topped with chopped fresh fruit or berries; it is the perfect cereal for those who are looking for health benefits in a crispy, not overly sweet cereal.
The Coffee Flakes from Cerealvit win the award for being the most unique gluten free cereal flavor I have ever tested. I can best describe it as a crunchy iced latte (use your imagination here... crunchy cereal, coated in real espresso, mixed with iced cold milk). Although I am a tea person and usually avoid coffee, I did find this cereal interesting. My husband loves coffee, and thought this cereal was tasty as a late night snack. I am confident that coffee aficionados following a gluten free diet will become instant fans of Coffee Flakes upon their first bite.
